From the series Decomposizione Bellica

Fungi decompose and draw energy from dead matter. They assimilate and return nutrients through a complex network that connects multiple organisms into an incredible sprawling structure that propagates into every soil. They are organisms that preserve the memory of life on land and fully embody the concept of environmental consciousness.
Here we see a World War I soldier holding a rifle. The weapon sprinkled with numerous colorful fungi is deprived of its ability to kill and becomes a tool for sprinkling spores.
This work is intended to draw attention to the absurdity of war and raise awareness of the urgency of communities taking a stand to protect the environment.
